Race Development and Highlights
We recap the intense battle for position and the crucial role of the anticipated pacesetters that defined this memorable race.
Start to Mid-Race Battle
As the gates burst open, Forever Young secured a solid start. As widely anticipated, #4 Contrary Thinking immediately claimed the lead, setting a strong pace. Forever Young positioned himself perfectly on the outside of the second rank, with #1 Fierceness running alongside on the inside. #8 Mindframe also joined this leading group, forming the vanguard as they headed down the backstretch.
Final Turn to the Finish Line Thriller
As the field rounded the third turn into the fourth, the contenders began to make their decisive moves. Forever Young advanced with incredible determination, seizing the lead even before entering the final stretch. Upon hitting the straight, he extended his advantage to a commanding two lengths, appearing to pull away from the pack. However, from the rear, last year’s champion, #7 Sierra Leone, launched a furious late charge. While Sierra Leone steadily closed the gap in the final strides, Forever Young never faltered, holding on resolutely to cross the finish line first, securing a truly historic victory.
